March 2, 2017
To Liberty Pumps NightEye® users registered before February 27th, 2017:
We have been informed that our third-party cloud services provider was the victim of a malware incident. We understand that the third party provider has addressed the incident and remedied the associated security vulnerabilities. Unfortunately, however, certain account information and user data of our customers has been lost, and the security of the system was compromised during this incident. The data potentially exposed may include user first and last name; phone number; zip code; email address; NightEye® account password; device ID number; and event notification history. Please know that we take our customers' security very seriously, and have taken steps to increase our data security, and that of our third-party providers, to minimize the risk of such events occurring in the future.
Due to the nature of the database issue, customer accounts that were created prior to February 27th, 2017 are no longer active and remote notification services for devices previously on those accounts will not be available until accounts are reestablished.
- Users must open the NightEye® application on their phone or smart device and recreate their account.
- Once created, the devices must be added to the new account using BLINKUP.
Step by step instructions on these processes are available in the QuickStart guide originally provided with the NightEye® device and are also available at the link below.
